Have a cup!I've been a coffeeholic since I was a teenager. I found the quiz below at one of Argentum Vulgaris's blogs and of course had to take it. It actually came out better than I thought it would. Try it yourself! Just click on the graphic.
It's easy to fuel my addiction without leaving the house. Sure, I will drink a little espresso laced with milk and over-sweetened with Italian syrup -- once in a while. But my favorite brew is pure, unsweetened, milk-free, and so strong a spoon can stand up in it. I use a French press pot by Bodum, my favorite dark beans and very cold filtered water. Follow the directions that come with the pot and you can't go wrong.
The only variable I employ is the type of beans. French roast is good for a quick short kick-start to the day.
But for a jumbo sized satisfying mug of coffee any time of the day, I love the Sumatra Mandheling beans roasted dark and coarsely ground. As you can see from the chart, it's low acid and heavy bodied. Sumatran coffee is simply perfect any time of day -- especially with something sweet, chocolaty, or your favorite fruit-based dessert.

I prefer the dark roasted beans for espresso, French press, very strong drip, and even iced coffee. Try it -- I hope you like it!

I am 69% addicted...seems I may need to up my coffee intake ;)
LOL! I suppose over 50% IS considered too much coffee intake. ;)
But it won't stop me! :)
I love a good coffee, if I pass a coffee shop and the aroma grabs me...that's it, I am in there!
Glynis! I know just how you feel! Too hard for me to resist. Thanks for stopping by today -- enjoy your morning coffee! :D
SF, we LOVE a good cup of coffee and Sumatra is our favorite! We only like to buy coffee beans that look fresh - not dull and dry looking. Although we've never had a bad batch from a Starbucks store.
We are also addicted 85%...can't hep it...we like it!!!
SG!!! We must be twins, separated at birth!! LOL I've got a huge mug I'm working on right now and am starting to finally wake up! LOL Starbucks has great Sumatran coffee. I also found any store with a fast turn-over on beans and a good price will have excellent and fresh coffee. Lately, I've gotten kind of lazy by grinding at the store and then it's ready to use when I'm stumbling around the kitchen in the morning. Saves time and reduces the possibility of accidents that way. LOL
Oh, but, SF, the SMELL of freshly ground coffee just seems to add some "positive" to my day! We are passionate about our coffee!! Glad to know I have a coffee twin!!
SG, you are so right about the delicious aroma of freshly ground coffee!! Like I said, I've been very lazy. Not a good thing.
For iced coffee I like to mix a few French beans in with the Sumatran, grind together, brew it REALLY strong, let it get room temp cooler, then pour it over a tall tumbler of ice, add a splash of Italian syrup, drizzle some Hersheys chocolate syrup into the glass, and lastly add a generous amount of half & half. [My usual favorite Italian syrup flavor is Caramel, but Irish Cream is tasty, too.] Oh, it's to die for! But not low-cal. Keeps me fueled AND cooled! LOL
o man! i'm terribly addicted to coffee!
i drink every morning black coffee with strong taste. always with sugar, sometimes with milk!
i like it so hot that i can not wake up without coffee :)
Addicted!! You are aptly named, then! Thanks for stopping by and enjoying a cup of very hot & very strong coffee!! The pot's always on, so stop in again! Thanks for your comment, too! :D
