The Light of Setting Suns

Sunset on the Oregon Coast, by David Robertssunset on the Oregon Coast

And I have felt ... a sense sublime
Of something far more deeply interfused,
Whose dwelling is the light of setting suns,
And the round ocean and the living air,
And the blue sky, and in the mind of man:
A motion and a spirit, that impels
All thinking things, all objects of all thought,
And rolls through all things.

~William Wordsworth
Tintern Abbey, 1798

Lizzie! Thanks! A friend snapped this photo over the weekend when he and his dear wife were on a few days vacation. She said it took about a half an hour for the sun to set. I just love those evenings of long twilight! Thanks for visiting today! :)

Love sunset photos, you'll have to explore my blogs, there are many sunsets over Salar de Uyuni, Lake Titicaca and the like.

AV! I love sunset photos, too, and will enjoy yours as soon as I can!! Just the names of the places sound like their sunsets are spectacular!

We have few brilliant sunsets here, since it often rains or is extremely cloudy much of the time. We're often lucky to have the sun even show for a few minutes on those days. Sometimes the clouds part, the sun's rays are long and watery, but still golden, then the sun dips below the horizon and the twilight is swallowed up again with clouds. That's a typical Pacific Northwest sunset. :(
