Writers, your challenge is to write a story, poem, play, article, report, micro-blog -- something -- anything -- about this picture. You may write your piece to any length, as long as it doesn't exceed 50 words. The shorter the better, of course. If you want to write a Twitter length story, give it a whirl but don't exceed 140 characters.
Try your hand at micro/flash work and feel free to post as many tiny pieces as you'd like in the Comment section below. Your work is yours, you own the copyright -- we're just making a spot available for you to share your creativity with the Sunflower Ranch visitors. You can experiment here and tweet them or post them or even use them as seeds for longer, more involved work.
Let's have some fun and start the weekend with a new little activity to spark your imagination. May you be inspired to make your writing soar and produce some wonderful work! Check out last week's Writer's Challenge and add your interpretation of the photo there as well.
Your comments are always welcome, too!

This was as close as she was ever going to get to Paris. She ran her ragged fingernail over the stamp once again wishing she could travel as easily and as cheaply as this stamp had. If only. If only.
I dreaming of snapping the Eiffel Tower in two! I mean super human strong giantess! I was green. My husband was so jolly. I wanted to smack him. He had no ambition, just stood around smiling like and idiot down or those tiny green bean fellows. I'd have stomped them down into green dust. Giantess! I'm so glad I am not green- ok I'm new at the giantess-ness of my new wish life, but I am not green. My skin is aquamarine with a hint of jade and turquoise. I shine in the sun, unlike my jolly green annoying husband! He is green as jungle leaves and just as dumb.
I dream of snapping the Eiffel Tower in half then erecting a diamond and lead crystal throne for myself in its place.
Mademoiselle Blanc, felt as if her whole world had turned blue. The sadness in her heart was heavy, the Eiffel Tower no longer reminded her of love, but of loss.
Mon Cheri, I write to you from a cafĂ© two blocks from the Eiffel Tower, that dream destination we so often whispered of as we tangoed in Lover’s Alley. My plan was always to share this ultimate moment with you, but instead, my pen cries for you with silent strokes.
Mary Anne!! I just love your bittersweet story!! I see a heart wrenching romance or a soaring melodrama here -- both very exciting! Thank you for sharing and sending me off into the mysterious world you have created! :D
Lola!! LOL I love this!! What a fun yet very down-to-earth fantasy!! Your giantess is wonderful -- she's obviously had her hands full with that lazy but lovable oaf she's married to -- how many of us can identify with that?? LOL -- great job here!! Thanks so much for brightening my day with your humor!! :D
Glynis!! I love your blue note story -- a love affair gone horribly bad -- but such highs and lows are so Parisian, don't you think? I love how in just a few words you've captured this and made me want to know more. Thanks so much for your contribution!!! :D
Milli!! Oh, no, poor girl -- what happened? Did he leave her for another, was he captured by the enemy? [Somehow seems sort of historical WW2 here -- maybe it's the strokes of the pen? A gorgeous French fountain pen no doubt. She might have been texting if this were more up-to-date. LOL] I love the timeless quality of this snippet of loss. Thank you so much for contributing to this pre-Bastille Day writer's challenge. :D
You had me at "sudoku." ;)
What a great blog. And the picture prompt ties in closely with my WIP!
Suzette!! I am so glad about the picture!!
I know that sudoku is addictive -- but sometimes we just need a little mind-concentration on something completely different to get on with the task at hand. At least that's how I justify it!! LOL
Thanks for visiting & have a wonderful week ahead! :D
My Grandmother went to Paris and I got was this stinking stamp!!
I am P!!! LOL, what a lousy gift! Poor kid! I suppose Granny had a marvelous time and can't stop babbling about it...
Thanks a bunch for the laugh today!! Have a wonderful week! :D
A week after Nana's funeral, I found the trunk hidden in the garage attic beneath a dusty old tarp. At the very bottom in a beautiful box, was a black beret stuffed with tissue paper. I noticed the edge of a stamp tucked in the lining.
The letter began "Lydia, Mon Amour," and was signed "toujours, Marc."
"Nana!" I exclaimed aloud.
Saundra M!!! Love it!! Mystery and a bittersweet romance!! All wrapped up in a dead woman's past -- excellent!! Thank you so much for contributing this intriguing story! :D
