Writers, your challenge is to write a story, poem, play, article, report, micro-blog -- something -- anything -- about this picture. You may write your piece to any length, as long as it doesn't exceed 50 words. The shorter the better, of course. If you want to write a Twitter length story, give it a whirl but don't exceed 140 characters.
Try your hand at micro/flash work and feel free to post as many tiny pieces as you'd like in the Comment section below. Your work is yours, you own the copyright -- we're just making a spot available for you to share your creativity with the Sunflower Ranch visitors. You can experiment here and tweet them or post them or even use them as seeds for longer, more involved work.
Let's have some fun and start the weekend with a new little activity to spark your imagination. May you be inspired to make your writing soar and produce some wonderful work! Check out last week's Writer's Challenge and add your interpretation of the photo there as well.
Your comments are always welcome, too!

Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray are in top form in this scene from Double Indemnity. Their acting prowess far out shadow the fact that apartment doors don't open out; they open in! The Producers let it go hoping no one would notice. They were almost right except for 200 million of us who know a safety violation when we see it!
Love the photo choice! I will write to it later! I just got back from my 1 month long trip to St.Croix to see my sweetheart! Awesome. I wasn't on line the whole time I was gone but for 1 day. Weird! But I had a blast.
How are things with you?
Lola D
Graham, thank you so much for pointing out that safety violation in Double Indemnity!! I never realized what caused my uneasiness in that scene, but that weird door opening must be it!! It leaves a very uncomfortable feeling. The stars are perfectly creepy, true, but who has an apartment with the main door that opens INTO the hall??? Good point and thanks for making it! :D
Hi Lola!!! Your trip sounds wonderful!! I've been off two weeks doing this that and the other -- but nothing as much fun as going to St. Croix!! I bet you got some terrific inspiration just getting off-line, not to mention a change of scenery! I know you'll include many of your impressions in your work!! :D
I'm just starting to get back to blogging this week -- my two weeks went by like crazy-fast and I don't have a ton of stuff to show for it. Except we had a lot of fun, lots of visiting, family stuff, and short trips. *sigh* It's hard when it ends....
But it's great to hear from you, glad you're back, too! Have a wonderful day! :D
