Mt. Rainier today
I've missed chatting with you due to a pesky cold [a rarity for me] -- but I'm on the mend and have a lot more energy now and want to get caught up. I have a lot to share! Next week I have jury duty for two weeks and probably won't be blogging very much. [I am sure what I'd like to write about would be off limits if I'm on a case. If I'm just sitting around the jury room waiting to be called to a trial, that might not be as interesting -- unless I do some snooping and that's sure to get me in trouble! LOL]
This is a shot of Mt. Rainier from the second story at my sister's house, about a mile from the ranch, and about 40 miles from the mountain. I snapped it through the double-paned window and it's just a wee bit fuzzy -- but I wanted to share the wonder of it -- a clear day, a fresh snowfall, the sun at the right angle, the trees below so pretty and the sky a perfect shade of blue -- if you're ok with the fuzzy telephoto and my shaky hand -- then I'm okay, too!
See you soon and thanks for visiting today!
Have a wonderful week!

TWO whole weeks of jury duty? wow, that seems crazy. I hope you don't have to do that all that often! It must be really neat to live so close to such a huge mountain, there's nothing comparable out here, just a few small hills. sad.
Beautiful. Mountains are so majestic aren't they?
I can't even imagine having that kind of view! Beautiful!
All the times I have been called for jury duty ended up being for one day only. The one I served was for 2 days and I was an alternate. Maybe you will not have to spend 2 full weeks.
Mt. Rainier is a beauty..how fortunate you are to live in such a beautiful place.
I like the fuzziness of the photo, very pretty. My condolences on 2 weeks of zzzzzzzzz jury duty. :(
beautiful moutains , i saw that once
Just catching up with your blog, wow you have some great pictures on show.
You also have been very busy by the sound of it. Take it easy.
kate!! Thanks for stopping by today! Glad you like the pic!! It really dominates the skyline -- when it's clear, of course. LOL As for jury duty, it could be more than 2 weeks if I get on a long trial. But it could be less if I serve on a short trial and then get dismissed. I hate the unknown, but that's the way they do things!!! :(
Loree!! Thanks for your comment! Yes, they are simply majestic! It's like a postcard mountain. :D
Flea!! Thanks for stopping by today! I know I am jealous of my sister's view!! We're at a slightly lower elevation surrounded by timber -- we can't see it from here!!! Maybe we could add two or three more floors...LOL :D
SG!! Thanks for stopping by today!! I've served on three other occasions for three different jurisdictions -- and only the municipal court let us go when they threw the case out of court!! I should be so lucky next week in superior court! LOL
We are lucky to have that stunning mountain -- nearly everywhere. But it only shows when the clouds have lifted, otherwise we're socked in and everything is grey/green. [Think dense forest with hardly any understory.]
We saw 5 deer [blacktail 3 does & 2 half grown fawns] yesterday morning walking down our street. They looked sort of lost. Naturally I couldn't find the camera. LOL So that's one reason I snapped the Mt. -- not moving, leaping, or tramping through the trees -- when I did find the camera so I could have something current on the blog. Photo tip of the day: a stationary object is a little easier to photograph than one with a lot of legs and graceful movements on the move! LOL
:D
Kate!! Thanks for your comment -- glad you like the "fuzzy" mountain! LOL and thanks, too, for your condolences on jury duty! It's going to be an adventure! More on that later in the week... :D
naveen!! Thanks for stopping by today!! That's neat that you've seen this mountain before. This shot is from the Tahoma side and not the same as the view from the Seattle area. Kind of front and back of the mountain -- but neither side will say "their" side is the back! LOL Still beautiful whichever side... :D
Glynis!! Thanks for stopping by today!! Thanks for your kind words about the photos, too! I have more I want to share and write about and would have done so last week but I have been laid low by this cold. Been kind of wiped out, actually. Thank goodness I'm feeling better so I can at least finish a few stories from a week ago! LOL Stay tuned! :D
