Taking A Breather & Merry Christmas

vintage Christmas postcard
Merry Christmas

Here's a neat little video I found on You Tube. It's of a lone driver crossing the Cascade Mountains on Christmas Eve. You can almost catch the scent of the evergreen forest and breathe the crisp mountain air.

Does it make you want to have something hot to drink and put your feet up in front of the fire? And maybe quietly remember old times and days gone by? I must admit it has that affect on me. The sound of the tires crunching through the snow covered roadway is positively mesmerizing! It sort of lulls me into a reverie. In a way, it's the perfect antidote to the last minute hustle and bustle of the day before Christmas and the non-stop scramble to complete all tasks and still be able to enjoy a lovely holiday.

I hope this serene but noisy drive in the mountains will help to keep you in your best holiday mood! [Check out some of the additional videos of Snoqualmie Pass and Snoqualmie Falls included with this video. The Falls in a snowstorm is awesome!]

Have a joyous Christmas!

Happy Solstice!

Happy Solstice Friends!

Sending my best wishes to you for a joyous day! I've included one of my favorite pictures below for you to download for your computer. [I found it online years ago, don't know who took it.] I think it's the moon over the Arctic Circle on the shortest day of the year. At any rate, for me, it sums up the simplicity and purity of the solstice. It's not our lives hitting "rock bottom" but it's the dawn of a new year for our Earth and all her inhabitants and the promise of a new beginning in all our endeavors. What could be more beautiful?

Thanks for visiting and enjoy our special day!

Dillie, the Blind House Deer

Dillie in her room
Dillie in her room

Here is the story of a deer, blind and abandoned at birth, rescued at age 3 days old, and raised as a pet. And what a pet she is!

We first saw it as an "oh, by the way," story on the local news, and just flipped! We've posted two videos below. The first is her life story and the second one is of a CBS reporter visiting her in her home. Both are short, but oh, what an emotional whollop they deliver!

Grab your hankies, enlarge the videos for best viewing, and be prepared to have your heart warmed.

Thanks for visiting today.

Have a wonderful week!

If you are a golfer, or live with one as I do, you might get a kick out of this video, from earlier this fall. Obsessed with golf -- and he's only two years old! Enlarge it for the best view.

Are you inspired to hit the practice tee? LOL

Surprised Kitty

Here's a sweet little video to brighten your day. I just had to share it with you! And I thought I'd update you on what's been happening here at the Ranch. I've been neglecting the blog -- too many family events going on since I finished jury duty, and of course my store is crying for attention, too. This is supposedly the prime time for online sales and participating in them is a time consuming activity. It's supposed to be just a hobby -- but you're also the CEO, sales staff, webmistress, shipping department, and new items acquisition manager! Some hobby! More work than "work!" LOL [I think I'd better just say my blogging will be hit or miss through Christmas and the New Year!]

Here's the short video for you to enjoy. [Please hit the enlarge button for a full screen.]

Thanks so much for visiting today. Have a wonderful week.

See you soon!
